In our first club meeting, we briefly talked about the elements of exposure. I gave out a document that explains the relationship between shutter speed, ISO (film speed), and aperture. No matter what kind of camera you have, you can use these principles to improve your images!
Remember, the assignments for this month are “Sports” and “My Precious.” Post your entries for these categories in the DHHS Flickr group. Be sure to label it in some way with the name of the assignment. Bring prints or a disk with your assignment photos to the next club meeting. (Or, just e-mail them to me.) We’ll share with the other Club members and discuss them.
I have organized the first DHCC photo shoot after school on Monday Oct 1. The focus will be on outdoor portraits and landscapes. Please e-mail me if you would like to attend.
Check out the photo contest going on now at Capture Cincinnati.
Visit the Photocast Network for thirteen (9 English, 3 Spanish, and 1 German) photography-related podcasts. My favorite is Tips from the Top Floor, which has a great page called “101 Ways to Improve your Digital Photography.”
I have been getting tons of great feedback from people in the community who are checking out the Dixie Heights Flickr page! I encourage you to browse your classmates’ photo streams and comment on your favorites.
